It looks as though the results are still not available on usacycling - mid November. Was this not a State Championship event?

Once again, THANK YOU for all your hard work on the Tour 'd Burg ! I decided at the last minute to go ahead and try to make it through the 50 mile course - never did over 35 in my life - and met some nice folk ( all of whom had $5,000 bikes it seems ! :-), and while my right leg "thought about cramping up", it didn't. Whew ! ( Check with me tomorrow though ) I'd Googled a map which showed me a way to do a 35 or 40 mile trek.....but.....hey

The course was awesome - esp around the Chicken Bristle Rd area - saw NO cars, and the hills were a hoot ! Had to walk up two of them, but coming down was a blast - 30, 32, and 35 MPH was maybe the most fun I've had. At the bottom of one though was a 40' patch of pure sand, and suffice it to say I was worried / lucky ! We all " drifted " a bit, but didn't fall. The only negative about the trip.

Met and rode with a 74 year old - " Charlie " - on his $5,000 bike, and learned a lot about bicycling. My bike is a 15 year old Bianchi Hybrid ( AKA fat -36mm- tires ), but I was able to catch up with a bunch of $5K bikes and stay with them until two steep hills.

Maybe next year I'll attempt the 75 mile route - sans a $5K bike ( maybe a new Giant - $750 - but not anything more ! ) At least I can now enroll in the M V Hospital Clemens Cancer Ride - 50 mile loop !

Now get back to work and good luck in getting caught up ! THANK YOU, and all the other volunteers for your time and efforts ! You are Super !

I thought that the kid zone was a good idea and worked very well. My 7-year old got to watch some racing and also do some other stuff.

I was totally turned off by the two “microphone personalities.” Many of their comments were sexist and offensive. Talking about how "good" the women looked totally trivializes these athletes' accomplishments. Their attempts to explain "Cycling 101" to the crowd was a total bust. I can understand trying to explain many of the nuances involving bicycle racing to people unfamiliar with the sport but please do it in a clear and concise manner that doesn't seem so patronizing.
