2011 Tour d’Burg Schedule of Races

TOUR D’BURG 2011 – Miamisburg’s 7th Annual TOUR d’BURG, sponsored by Kettering Medical Center – Sycamore, will be held on Sunday, July 17, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM in historic downtown Miamisburg, just 3 miles west of the Dayton Mall on Route 725.

This event is free and open to the public with free parking. Top amateur and professional level men and women Criterion racers will compete in USA Cycling sanctioned races in historic downtown Miamisburg, Ohio. This family-friendly event features a food court, a kids’ parade plus other activities geared to children of all ages.

Pros can enter the race but the Ohio Criterium Championship medals are only open to Ohio residents that hold an amateur USA Cycling Racing License.

Team Dayton Fuji Cycling is the 2011 Host Team for the 7th Annual Miamisburg Tour d’Burg.

They are a grass roots amateur cycling team based in Southwest Ohio.  Despite the name, the membership draws from areas surrounding the cities of Cincinnati and Dayton. Their  mission is to grow and develop competitive cycling in Southwest Ohio.  They are the largest USA Cycling licensed teams in the Mid-West with a membership of over 130 racers.  They primarily cover the Road, CycloCross and Mountain Bike disciplines.  They are a diverse team with a women’s program, junior development program, and very competitive Masters/Senior Olympics squad.  Overall their team is prominent in the region and even nationally— putting up over 100 wins and 300 podiums placings each year.

TOUR d’BURG 2011 will host…

…the 7th Annual BIKE TOUR, starting at Library Park in historic downtown Miamisburg, Ohio.

All ages & abilities are invited to participate in this Ride that heads west through the well marked roads of Montgomery and Preble counties. The Ride includes routes of 25, 50 & 70 miles with water & food stops. This Ride is not a race, so you can enjoy the countryside and camaraderie. On your return to Miamisburg, you are invited to stay for the Tour d’ Burg’s Ohio State Championships amateur and professional bike races. There will be food, activities for the kids plus your favorite media personalities competing in the famous “Celebrity Race”.

The Course at “Miamisburg Tour d’Burg”

Approximate 1-mile circuit through historic downtown Miamisburg, pavement is very good to excellent, with a small section of brick road adding some challenge and character to the course, our very own “cobbles”.

Although this editor is still in wait for “results” to post (rumor has it that there was a technical/database issue), I have just received this link to photos of race day taken by professional photographer Jeffrey Jakucyk.
